Day 1

All we have to say about day 1 is holy cow!!!!  We left Chicago at 8am and arrived in San Jose, Costa Rica at around 4pm.  We were greeted by Luis, an amazing Costa Rican who was our driver and translator to our destination right outside of La Fortuna....Mountain Paradise Hotel.  We were transported by microbus through extremely curvy and traffic filled roads.  It began to get dark around 5pm and that's when the fog set it.  The roads here in Costa Rica are different....one lane = 2 and the first to come to a bridge crosses..who determines that...we don't know.  Pedestrians walk in the lanes of traffic and the drivers pay close attention as not to hit anyone that might be in the way.  By the end we both weren't feeling very well, but we the beauty of our surroundings made up for the drive!!   Upon arrival we were greeted with warm wet towels and fresh mango juice.  The hotel explained everything that we needed to know and then whisked us off to our room which was one of the highest on the mountain.  Our room is beautiful and our shower is a waterfall filled with fresh plants and beautiful flowers!!!  We are so happy to be here and it is a perfect 75 degrees...
